CARITAS - Congregations Around Richmond Involved To Assure Shelter- With its name derived from the Latin word for charity, today CARITAS is the largest emergency shelter program in the Richmond community. More than 170 faith communities provide over 37,000 nights of shelter. The congregation-based model mobilizes thousands of volunteers annually.
Richmond City Jail - Rev. Canon Alonzo C. Pruitt, rector of St. Philip's Episcopal Church serves as the Under Sheriff & Chief of Chaplains for the Richmond Sheriffs office. The mission of Richmond Sheriff’s Chaplains is to provide, from a multi-faith perspective, pastoral care, religious instruction, spiritual guidance, worship opportunities, and other related services. Chaplains serve residents of the Richmond City Jail, and, Officers, Deputies, and Staff of the Richmond City Sheriff’s Office and their families.
Narcotics Anonymous - St. Philips hosts two Narcotics Anonymous meetings each week. 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Sunday Basic Text Group (OPEN, B-S-K, H) 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday Feelings Group (OPEN, D) St. Phillip's Episcopal Church, 2900 Hanes Ave. Richmond, VA 23222
