Youth

Timothy 4:12 "Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity."

Children

childrenChildren are the jewels of the Kingdom of God. Their innocence, fresh outlook, and open-mindedness about all things make them teachable and excited about the things of God. We strive to create, for our children, a place where faith, imagination, and learning go hand in hand. It is our goal to introduce God’s love through fun activities that include story-telling, music, and artistic activities.

Using the above-mentioned methods, we aim to start the development of our little one’s into solid and effective members of the Body of Christ by teaching them:

  1. Compassion for others and themselves so that they can share Christ’s love in the purest way and shake the world to it’s foundations with forgiveness, goodness, and mercy;
  2. Confidence in who and whose they are in the Body of Christ to enable them to explore, learn, and teach about Jesus Christ. Also, we help to establish confidence in their knowledge of Christ and His teachings so that they are not easily swayed, and;
  3. Creativity in their approach to life and Christ’s teachings so that they can remain engaged and excited about Christ in an infectious way.

Youth & Young Adults

One of the great enemies the Church faces in this generation is youth and young adult boredom with the things of God. This is a serious At St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, we are developing dynamic, exciting, and invigorating designed to teach our youth and young adults the Word of God, as well as, keep them engaged and excited about their individual roles and responsibilities as modern day Christians in a diverse world.

We believe that youth and young adults are innately spiritual and that they only need to be given the opportunity to show their lively and passionate expressions of faith. These expressions of faith are diverse and valid to the transformation, growth and development of the Body of Christ. To that end, we aim to:

  1. Engage youth and young adults in the exploration of their own ministries, gifts, and talents;
  2. Expose youth and young adults to God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit through age appropriate teachings;
  3. Empower youth and young adults to spread the Gospel of Christ through their actions and deeds and provide real-life and modern day examples on how they can become evangelists;
  4. Encourage the church to listen to the prophetic voices of youth and young adults, and;
  5. Extend their roots in the Faith to help them remain steadfast and unmovable in their beliefs when challenged by the daily happenings of their lives.

Broken into groups by age, our youth and young adult ministry serves ages 5-12; 13-18; and 19+. To serve with this ministry, please click here.
